Celebrate on Social Media

Celebrate our Brown graduates on social media as part of Commencement 2021.

Please join in the Commencement 2021 virtual celebration by posting photos and videos of moments of celebration and/or messages of congratulations using the hashtags #Brown2021 and #BrownU on and around Commencement Weekend. And visit Brown’s social channels — Instagram, Facebook and Twitter — to view messages from the Brown community.

As families, friends and some graduates celebrate this milestone virtually due to COVID-19 restrictions, these messages are an important part of the weekend’s events and provide an opportunity for well-wishers around the world to show their support for the graduates. Messages of congratulations also will be highlighted on a screen at the ceremonies.

For Students

Whether you’ll be attending Brown’s 253rd Commencement in person or remotely, there are many ways to share your excitement and messages of congratulations with your fellow graduates, family and friends.

Snap a selfie before the ceremony, from wherever you’re watching, to share your Commencement day moment. If you’re on campus, share a selfie at one of Brown’s iconic locations or another favorite spot.

And be sure to share the link to your ceremony page with friends and family so that they can watch live when it happens.

For Friends and Families

Your participation will help make Commencement Weekend special for Brown’s graduates and let them experience the love and support of their community, as you watch the ceremony from home.

Share videos, photos and messages of congratulations to Brown’s Commencement social feed by posting publicly to Instagram, Twitter or YouTube using the hashtags #Brown2021 and #BrownU.

Messages will be posted throughout Commencement Weekend, including during the ceremonies, to show graduates how families are joining in this special moment from afar.

Download posters that you can place in your window or hold and post on social media, as well as digital stickers and other items to share on social media.

Share the link to your graduate’s ceremony page with others so everyone can watch the event virtually. If you have a College graduate, make sure you know which ceremony they are registered to attend — either 10 a.m. or 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 2.
