Event Access and Ticketing for Brown Commencement and Reunion Weekend

As part of Brown’s commitment to community safety and security, a new ticketing system for the 2026 Commencement and Reunion Weekend will be implemented that will include controlled access to campus buildings and outdoor spaces around the College Green.

All members of the community, including students, faculty, staff, guests and vendors, will be required to show the appropriate credentials to access the College Green area and other campus locations throughout the weekend.

This page includes information about ticketing, including FAQs and a quick guide to who requires tickets. We are committed to maintaining the celebratory and memorable experience that is so unique to Brown’s Commencement and Reunion Weekend while maintaining a secure and inclusive environment for all.

Graduating Students and Guests

All graduating students — including undergraduate seniors, master’s and professional, doctoral and medical students — and their guests will be ticketed via a smart wristband that should be worn throughout the weekend. The wristband will provide access to the College Green, Simmons Quad and Front Green areas, including for the Master’s Ceremony on Saturday and the University Procession, College Ceremony and University Ceremony on Sunday.

Graduating students will request wristbands for themselves and guests attending Commencement through an online portal, which will open in April, and will pick up wristbands in advance of the weekend at established times and locations.

Ticketing details for other Commencement events and ceremonies will be outlined on this Commencement website in the coming weeks, but members of the campus community are encouraged to check with their departments for additional guidance.

Faculty, Staff and Vendors

Brown faculty, staff members, nongraduating students and vendors working Commencement and Reunion Weekend will receive separate access badges for event locations, depending on their roles.

Faculty will continue to RSVP for Commencement activities in the same way they have done in the past and will receive separate communications in the coming weeks. If you are a manager or event organizer who will have staff working on campus during Commencement and Reunion Weekend, you will need to request access badges for your staff.

If you have typically requested access badges in the past, you will receive information about how to do so in the coming weeks. If you are new to requesting access badges for your team, or are unsure of the process, please email commencement@brown.edu for information.

Alumni

Brown alumni will continue to register for Reunion activities in the same way they have done in past years and receive access badges for events, including the University Procession, through Alumni Relations. Registration for Reunion has not changed. Non-Reunion alumni who wish to participate in the University procession will have the opportunity to register in advance as well. Visit the Reunion website for the most up-to-date information for alumni.

Events Requiring Additional Tickets

Some Commencement and Reunion Weekend events have limited seating and require additional tickets, including Campus Dance on Friday and the Warren Alpert Medical School Ceremony on Sunday. Graduating students and others participating in ticketed events should continue to consult this website leading up to the weekend.

Seating Guidance for Families

As always, due to limited seating capacity, only graduating seniors are allowed inside and on the grounds of the First Baptist Church in America during Baccalaureate on Saturday and the College Ceremony on Sunday. Family members and guests are invited to watch a livestream of both events from designated seating, to be announced.

Guests of graduating master’s and professional students and doctoral students will be seated in designated areas at these ceremony locations. Wristbands are required to access the College Green for the Master’s Ceremony on Saturday.

Guests of graduating medical students must have separate tickets to access the ceremony location at First Unitarian Church.

All graduating students must have wristbands to participate in the University Procession and Ceremony, and guests must have wristbands to view these events on the College Green.
