Commencement

Honorary Degree Recipients

Each year, Brown bestows honorary degrees on a diverse group of scholars, artists and leaders recognized for exceptional achievement.

During Commencement and Reunion Weekend from May 24-26, Brown University will confer honorary doctorates on nine candidates who have achieved great distinction in a variety of fields. Honorary degrees are awarded by the Board of Fellows of the Brown Corporation and are conferred by the University president — in English and in Latin — during Commencement exercises on College Green.
